Synopsis:
I began to question why I and others are able to see the deeper meaning behind seemingly irrelevant choices. Yet, on deeper inspection I couldn’t fight the realization that every action we take paints another detail into the portrait of ourselves. When people quiet themselves rather than speaking louder, it’s because they’ve been shown that their words aren’t valued. When someone quits before it even begins, you know they’ve felt such great disappointment that their soul can’t handle another break. When you see people do little and inexplicable things, some of which may even seem audacious and rude, you have the opportunity to practice empathy and compassion rather than judgement. Why is it that these people are acting against your logic? Because it’s acting entirely to their logic instead. 

Do not criticize those around you before trying to understand what they’re hiding from the outside world. This hidden thing is often a deep rooted suffering that feels too vulnerable to share with anyone outside of yourself. Think of all of the times in your youth that you may have made an incredibly illogical decision in retrospect and know that at the time you made the best decision you could have at the time. Then apply that grace and understanding to all of the youthful souls around you. We all deserve to be forgiven, seen, and understood
